Europeana is a project founded by the EU to digitize artwork and to make the cultural heritage available on the web. Within an up to date press release the EU announced that now there are above 14 million pieces of artwork accessible. Artwork do include books, maps, photographs, paintings, film and music clips from cultural institutions across Europe.
