A study by Leichtman Research Group states that more than a third and in numbers 38 % of US households now are equipped with connected tv. Whereas smart tv devices are on the market most households are connected to the internet by game consoles and the number of connected smart tv sets is just 4 %. This figure is opposed to the popularity of online tv and video with 13 % of adults watching full length tv shows or video at least once a week online. This is a fact for the forecast made by the study that the number of connected tv sets and by this the number of smart tv sets are likely to rise rapidly in the near future. The latter is something the manufacturers are expecting and supporting by their product ranges with Samsung already having launched a marketplace for smart tv ads.
